STUDENT DEBT
Q – I’ve just finished 3rd year of college with one year left before I have my degree but am really struggling to make ends meet. My parents are not in a position to help and unfortunately we don’t qualify for any grants or supports. I have a part time job and all of my money goes on rent, heating and electricity bills. I have a credit union loan and a maxed out credit card neither of which I can afford to make any repayments on and I am now in arrears on both. The stress of constantly worrying about my debts all while trying to study and keep a part time job is really taking its toll to the point where I’m really considering giving up college. I can’t see how I can fix this. Paul – Galway
