Q. We are getting married early next year and we were hoping to buy a house this Autumn. We both have permanent jobs and have savings of about €30,000 and thought we’d have no trouble getting a mortgage. Our bank will only lend us enough to buy a 2 bed apartment which isn’t what we want.
