Q. My mother took out what she thought was an investment plan coupled with joint life cover on my father and mother’s lives as a precaution some 23 years ago. All four children have now flown the nest but she was shocked to discover the policy that she had been paying € 83 per month into is now worth only € 2,150 – less than a tenth of what she paid in !
