19584John Lowe is probably best known for his popular books on personal finance ‘The Money Doctor’, ’50 Ways to Wealth’, ‘The Money Doctor Finance Annuals’ all published by Gill & Macmillan – two of the eight editions went to the number one bestseller position in Ireland (paperback non-fiction section) The 2013 Annual was published after the December 2012 Budget and is endorsed by Joe Duffy, Brendan O’Carroll, Jim Power and Gay Byrne. The Money Doctor 2014 – the 9th edition – will be published October 2013.

His popular interactive seminar Surviving the Recession – Simple Steps to Transform your Finances has been delivered the length and breath of Ireland. Participants are advised what to do financially and what not to do, aided by a state of the art presentation and CD disc for everyone in the audience with really useful information, top tips, fact sheets and templates.

His approach as The Money Doctor is simple, objective and effective. What he most enjoys about his role as a personal finance writer and authorised adviser is that he is free to tell rather than sell the public what he really thinks and tell it in an easy to understand style – “in plain English” as they say – TELL NOT SELL. John is a frequent interviewee and commentator on our national airwaves ( Newstalk weekly Lunchtime Tuesday slot, plus contributions on RTE, East Coast radio, Today FM, 4FM, 98FM, Q102fm, Sunshine Radio, a variety of rural stations – Tipp FM, Clare FM, Midlands 103, Highland Radio, Waterford LRFM, Limerick Live 95, LMFM – et al) and amongst our print media and television. He also writes currently for Sunday Business Post while he also had a weekly column “Making Money with The Money Doctor” in the LIFE magazine supplement of the Sunday Independent – he wrote 70 consecutive articles and 50 of them were complied and published in April 2008 for his 5th book entitled “50 Ways to Wealth”

John is also a member of the National Union of Journalists.

With over 27 years experience in the banking sector – he is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers, a member of the Institute of Directors ( successfully passed the Chartered Director programme in IMI Sandyford through IOD) and a member of the Life Insurance Association – and a genuine interest in helping people make their money work for them, John is one of Ireland’s most respected personal finance gurus. John is also founder and managing director since 1999 of Providence Finance Services Limited, trading as Money Doctor, a fully authorised financial advisory fee-based services company based in Dublin.

John is invited to speak on personal finance to companies and organisations and their staff from all sectors to help them make the most of their money.
