I WANT TO ACCESS MY LATE HUSBAND’S BANK ACCOUNTS
Q – My husband died recently and left me details of all his savings accounts. Unfortunately we don’t have family and when I tried to withdraw the money from those accounts all in his sole name, I was told that I need to get in touch with the Revenue Commissioners before any money can be released. Is this correct and why so? Will I be liable for any outstanding tax bill of my husband’s which he may not have cleared before he passed away ? Miriam – Bray Co Wicklow
