WILL I NEED TO KEEP WORKING ?
Q. With the pension age threshold increasing to 68 from 2028, by the time I retire in 2049 it may be even higher. I will have a sizeable gap in employment therefore before I receive that State Pension – assuming the government will be able to afford it then and it is still there ! The recent Budget scrapping of the 67 age threshold will not affect me. Any advice ? Thanks for the column Gerry – Clontarf Dublin 3.
